Video: 12-Year Girl Walks On Street Seeking Help After Rape In MP

A shocking video clip of a 12-year-old girl walking in a semi-nude has come to light. The incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh at Badnagar road, about 15 km from Ujjain.

In the clip shared by NDTV, the victim, bleeding after the alleged rape, is seen going door-to-door for help. Shamefully, people stared but did not help the victim. In the clip, one man is also seen shooing her away when she sought his help.

The visuals, which no longer shock a society where violence against women and minors has become chillingly common, were captured by a CCTV camera at Badnagar road, about 15 km from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.

The young girl, roaming the streets in tattered clothes, eventually arrived at an Ashram. A concerned priest at the ashram, suspecting sexual violence, quickly wrapped her in a towel and hurried her to the district hospital.

However, the medical examination has confirmed the occurrence of rape, the report said.

Due to the severity of her injuries, the girl was taken to Indore. Police personnel came forward to give blood to the victim. It has been reported that her condition is stable.

A case of rape has been registered against the unidentified accused and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been invoked.

"The medical examination has confirmed rape. We have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and closely following this. We appeal to the people to inform police if they get any information," Ujjain police chief Sachin Sharma said and claimed that a special team has been formed to nab the culprits.

The cops are yet to identify the location of the alleged rape and the whereabouts of the girl. Going by accent, she is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Sharma stated.

"The girl was not able to tell us exactly where she is from. But her accent suggests she is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh," he added.
