He highlighted several key projects, including the ambitious Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project, which aims to transform drought-prone areas.

Wainganga-Nalganga Project to Irrigate Vast Areas

This transformative project will significantly improve the agricultural landscape and address the challenges faced by farmers in the region. The tender for the project is expected to be floated in 2024, marking a crucial milestone in its implementation.

Jigaon and Gosikhurd Projects on Fast Track

The Deputy Chief Minister also provided updates on other important irrigation projects in Vidarbha. The Rs 1710 crore Jigaon project has received cabinet approval, and its first phase is targeted for completion by June 2025. This phase will bring 45,000 hectares of land in Buldhana district under irrigation. Additionally, the Gosikhurd project is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 or early 2025. Fadnavis assured that there is no shortage of funds for these projects.

Industrial Growth and Investment in Vidarbha

Since the current government came to power in July 2022, agreement letters have been signed for 26 major projects with a combined investment of Rs 50,000 crore. These projects are expected to bring significant economic growth and employment opportunities to the region.

Gadchiroli's Potential as a Steel City

The Deputy Chief Minister specifically mentioned the Gadchiroli Lloyds steel project, which is set to bring an investment of over Rs 21,000 crore. The first phase of the Konseri steel project in Gadchiroli is also nearing completion and will be inaugurated soon.
