Vice President Hamid Ansari greets nation ahead of Independence Day

New Delhi, Aug 14: Vice President Hamid Ansari on Friday greeted the people ahead of India's Independence Day on Saturday and said the country should strive towards attaining social equality.

Ansari said in a statement: "I extend my warm greetings to the people of our country on the joyous occasion of our Independence Day."

On this Independence Day, the country should resolve to strive towards attaining social equality and dignity for every citizen of India, he said.

"On this auspicious occasion, we take pride in the achievements of our nation and salute the sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters," he added.
