VHP workers smear grease on municipal officers over cow deaths
Jaipur, Nov 26: VHP activists today allegedly smeared grease on the faces of two Ajmer municipal officers while protesting over death of five cows due to lack of care at a corporation-run cow ranch here.
The activists were protesting in front of the cowshed in Ajmer district against the death of the bovines and alleged that the cattle died due to hunger and lack of fodder.

Corporation's acting Health officer Satyanarayan Sharma and Revenue Officer Bhagwan Bachchani rushed to the spot, following which the activists blackened their faces with grease.
"There were some anti-social elements in the mob who smeared grease on my face when I went to the 'gaushala' on information of the death of cows and subsequent protest," Sharma said.
"They also misbehaved and blackened the face of Revenue inspector who reached the spot after me," he said. There were around 50 activists who were part of the protest, he said. "Five cows were found dead at the cowshed, which led to the protest by the VHP activists. They misbehaved with the officers and blackened their faces.
They gave us a complaint and an FIR is being lodged," SHO of Christian ganj police station Purnaram said. Revenue Inspector Bachchani said that a medical board has been formed for the post-mortem and reason of the death will be clear after the report is received.
The commissioner of Ajmer Municipal Corporation H Guite expressed ignorance about the incident, and said "I am not aware of such an incident."
