Veteran freedom fighter Babu Bharat Singh passes away
Saharanpur (UP), Dec 13: Veteran freedom fighter Babu Bharat Singh passed away at a hospital here.
He was 91-years-old and passed away yesterday due to age-related ailments. Singh resigned from his job in Tata Iron and Steel Company in 1942 to join the Quit India movement and served three months of rigorous imprisonment, former MLA Surendra Kapil said.

After Independence, he joined the Information and Broadcasting ministry and worked in Akashvani centres at Delhi, Kolkata, Shimla, Jalandhar and Jaipur before retiring as Deputy Director (Administration) at Amritsar in 1982.
