Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor to be conferred Dada Saheb Phalke award
New Delhi, Mar 23: Yesteryear's heart-throb Shashi Kapoor will soon be honoured with presitigious Dada Saheb Phalke award.
The veteran actor recently celebrated his 77th birthday.
The senior actor who started his career as a child artist with his brother Raj Kapoor's film 'Awara'.
Alongwith featuring in movies like 'Kala Patthar', 'Kabhi Kabhie', 'Shaan' he also produced critically acclaimed movies like 'Junoon', 'Kalyug', '36 Chowringhee Lane'.
Shashi Kapoor won the National Award thrice and received the Padma Bhushan in 2011.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is conferred for lifetime contribution to cinema and is considered to be the highest official recognition for film personalities in India.
Veteran lyricist and director Gulzar received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award last year for his contribution to the Indian Film Industry.
