Varanasi: 2 dead, 16 missing after boat capsized in Ganga
The boat was going to Mirzapur from Varanasi when it capsized due to a sudden rise in the water current. At least 22 people were rescued, said the report. Rescue operations are being conducted by the NDRF.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences over the incident.
The District Magistrate has issued an alert.
