Varanasi-based pan seller's daughter creates world record by dancing Kathak for 124 hrs
Varanasi, April 12: A determined person can achieve any feat even if it look impossible and challenging. 30-year-old Soni Chaurasia, a Kathak dancer made India proud by registering her name in the Guiness Book of World Records by dancing for non-stop 124 hours!
She embarked on the journey, that created history, on Monday, April 4 at 6 pm and stopped her dance on April 9 at 9.20 pm on Saturday.

By dancing non-stop for 124 hours, Soni broke the earlier world record set by Kalamandalam Hemalatha of Thrissur, Kerala, who performed Mohiniattam dance continuously for 123 hours 20 minutes in 2011.
Even after dancing non-stop for five days, there was no sign of fatigue or tiredness on Soni's face.
While talking to a daily, Soni revealed the secret behind her fitness and energy. She said that her daily routine includes intake of cow urine with honey. Besides, she also takes kanwal gatta (lotus root) halwa and Pomegrenate and beetroot juice, as herbal and ayurvedic medicine.
To achieve the feat of creating world record, Soni had put lots of efforts and hard work from last at least six months.
While saying that her months of hard work proved to be a boon for her, Soni revealed that she used to run bare foot from Manikarnika Ghat to Ramanagar Pipa Pul on the sand near the Ganges river, to make herself strong in a standing position for a long time.
On Nov 17, 2015, Soni had performed at Arya Mahila College in Varanasi, for upto 87 hours 18 minutes after which she could not stand. But that did not deter her from achieving her goal.
Her father, Shyam Chandra Chaurasia is a pan-seller, who runs a small shop. She has two sisters and two brothers and lives in Bibi Hatiya area of the temple town.
