Vande Bharat Operator Spots Rods, Stones On Track, Hits Emergency Brakes Averting Major Accident

A potentially catastrophic incident was narrowly averted as vigilant train operators of the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express took immediate action upon discovering stones and iron rods deliberately placed on the railway track in Rajasthan's Bhilwara. The train operators promptly applied emergency brakes, bringing the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express to a halt, thus preventing a major accident from occurring.

As per media reports, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway confirmed the incident and reported that officials have visited the location in the Gangarar-Soniyana section. A case is in the process of being registered by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the Railways Act in response to this dangerous act.

The CPRO said, ""Train No 20979 Vande Bharat Udaipur-Jaipur stopped at KM no 158/18, 158/19 in Gangarar-Soniyana section. The stoppage was due to placing of some ballast on the track and of two rods, of one feet each, in the joggle plate on the said Km. The incident occurred at around 09:55 hrs in the jurisdiction of RPF/post/Bhilwara. The location comes under the jurisdiction of SHO/Gangarar in Chittaurgarh district," as quoted by News18

The official was also quoted adding that various authorities, including DSC/Ajmer, IPF/Bhilwara, PWI/Gangarar, local police, and GRP officials, have investigated the scene. DSC/Ajmer has informed SP/Chittaurgarh about the incident, and the RPF is registering a case under the Railways Act. PWI/Gangarar is also preparing to file an FIR with SHO/Gangarar.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing stones, rail fasteners, and iron rods deliberately placed on the railway tracks, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

The Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, serves as a critical transportation link, and the timely intervention of the alert train operators prevented a potential disaster from unfolding.
