Valentine’s Day 2025: Married Couple Signs Quirky ‘Love Contract’—With Household Chores As Penalty

Couples across the world are celebrating Valentine's Day today, February 14, with love and joy. Many are exchanging flowers, chocolates, and gifts, while others are making grand romantic gestures. However, one couple from West Bengal has caught the attention of social media with an unusual way of expressing their love-a formal agreement on a Rs 500 non-judicial stamp paper.

Anaya and Shubham, who have been married for two years, decided to create a "Valentine's Day Agreement" to avoid frequent arguments and strengthen their relationship. The agreement outlines house rules for both of them, aiming to maintain peace and harmony in their marriage.

A Unique Set Of Rules

The agreement humorously highlights the couple's everyday challenges. It particularly addresses Shubham's obsession with cryptocurrency trading. Some of the rules he must follow include:

- No discussions about trading markets at the dining table.
- Maintaining proper bedroom decorum.
- Avoiding talk of capital gains or losses during intimate moments.
- Stopping the use of finance-related nicknames like "My Beautycoin" and "My Cryptopie."
- No use of trading apps or watching cryptocurrency-related YouTube videos after 9 PM.

Anaya, referred to as "Party 2" in the document, also has her own set of rules. These include:
- Not complaining about Shubham's actions to her mother.
- Avoiding mention of his ex during arguments.
- Restricting herself from ordering expensive skincare products and late-night food from delivery apps.

A Penalty Clause

The agreement includes a penalty clause for breaking the rules. If either party fails to follow the conditions, they must do three months of household chores, including washing clothes, cleaning toilets, and grocery shopping.

Social Media Reactions

The agreement, originally shared on Reddit, quickly went viral. Many social media users found it humorous and heart-warming. Some called it "cute and effective," while others joked about its impact on Shubham's future.

One user wrote, "This is the kind of cute disagreement I support." Another commented, "The real punishment is at the end-three months of household chores!" A humorous remark read, "Better to stay single than to sign such legal documents!"

Some users also noticed that Shubham had not signed the agreement yet, adding to the fun discussions online.

This light-hearted agreement has entertained many, showing that even in disagreements, love and humour can bring couples closer.
