'Vajpayee would have definitely come up with witty comments at present state of affairs in BJP!'
New Delhi, Aug 18: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was known for putting things in his own way and simplified many other things in his own style. Interestingly he never shied away answering difficult questions not only about the party but also about himself which seems impossible for others.
In his last days, he was unable to speak but people within and outside the party are asking, had he kept silent when there is a section in the BJP that is not happy with the working style of the present leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and some of them being close friends of him.
Leaders like L K Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Yashwant Sinha, Jaswant Singh, Arun Shourie, Satrughan Sinha, Kalraj Mishra, Shanta Kumar, Karia Munda and many more who have been into a forced retirement life.
Even their advise is not sought on important issues so leaders like Yashwant Sinha, Shatrughna Sinha and Shourie expressed their resentment.
"Had Vajpayee been fit enough, he would definitely have spoken his mind," said a BJP leader on anonymity.
See he had answered difficult questions and when Pramod Mahajan and M Venkaiyah Naidu were moved to organisation from the government and the then BJP President Naidu had made the statement to get ready to contest election under Loh and Vikash Purush - Advani and Vajpayee.

Vajpayye in a book release function said in the presence of Advani: "Na Tired, Na Retired, lekin ab Advani ji ke netratv me vijay ki or prasthan kijiye (Neither tired, nor retired. But under the leadership of Advaniji march towards victory) putting rest to all debate about their rivalry in the party and outside.
It was impossible for any BJP leaders to speak like this but he makes no bones about the fact that he is a bachelor and not a Brahmachari (celibate) when asked by many. Vajpayee always remained very cautious about Ayodhya movement, in one of speeches he was heard saying that he wanted to go to Ayodhya but was asked by the party to go to Delhi so he is following the instruction. In another statement he said that demolition of building was expression (Prakatikaran) of people wanting to built temple there.
When Aadvani decide to start Rath Yatra, it was Vajpayee who told him that Advani ji must remember that he is going to Ayodhya not Lanka. There are many such instances when he had done course correction without breaking the discipline of the party.
Leaders like former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, former Bharatiya Jan Sangh general secretary Subhramanyam Swamy and BJP general secretary (organisation) K N Govindacharya attacking him personal but neither he had shown his anger against them nor had gone after them as supreme leader of the party. He always answered these issues in a lighter veins.
But the way old leadership of the party is sidelined, Vajpayee ji would have certainly come up with his own witty comment. Sometimes they were such that people were forced mend their decision. Though most of his colleagues are no more but those who are around, they would definitely have not meted out such treatment, had Vajpayee ji been in his elements, added the leader.
