Uttarakhand: Vehicles Swept Away By Massive Currents After Heavy Rains Pound Haridwar
The arrival of the monsoon in Uttarakhand has led to rapidly rising river water levels, resulting in major destruction.
In Haridwar, heavy rainfall caused a seasonal river to overflow, washing away numerous vehicles parked in a cremation ground.

The powerful currents engulfed buses and eight cars in Har ki Pauri.

Visuals from the area show several submerged cars and buses, showing the severity of the flooding. In a video from the site, a police officer can be seen warning pilgrims and locals to stay away from the dangerous river.
Such incidents, where seasonal rivers overflow during the monsoon, are unfortunately common in Uttarakhand, leading to recurring damage and safety hazards for residents and visitors.
