Uttarakhand: Ten killed in landslide

Dehradun, May 23: Ten labourers were killed and five others injured after landslide hit Chakrata area of the district in the wee hours today.

The mishap took place around 1 AM when the labourers were sleeping in the Teoni-Hanol area and boulders rolled down after strong winds and thundershowers hit the area, district officer Ravinath Raman said.

Bodies of the 10 labourers have been retrieved and the injured have been admitted to a hospital where the condition of one of them is critical. The labourers were working on a project under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojna.
