Uttarakhand: Nanakmatta Gurudwara Kar Sewa Pramukh Shot Dead, CCTV Records Crime; Probe Underway
According to police reports, the two bike-borne assailants shot Nanakmatta Gurudwara Kar Sewa chief Baba Tarsem Sing on Thursday morning. The incident reportedly happened around 6:30 am inside the dera in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar.
The reports said Baba Tarsem Sing was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital in Khatima, where doctors declared him brought dead.

To take account of the situation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udham Singh Nagar, Manjunath TC himself reached the spot immediately after being informed about the murder and to control the situation as the murder of a spiritual leader may lead to disturbance of law and order.

Shedding light on the saddening incident, Uttarakhand Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) AP Anshuman said, "Two identified assailants who came on a bike opened fire at Nanakmatta Gurdwara Kar Sewa Pramukh Baba Tarsem Singh inside the dera at around 6:30 am. We have deployed several police teams, along with the special task force (STF), to nab the killers. We will also constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the murder."
"The law-and-order situation is normal in the area," ADGP added.

Notably, the incident was recorded by a CCTV camera installed near the crime spot and both the assailants can clearly be seen in the video. Reports said, the police is scanning footage and after filing a case under relevant sections, the investigation has been started.
Nanakmatta Gurudwara, also known as Nanakmatta Sahib, is a Sikh pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, where millions of devotees visit every year as the site holds significant historical and religious importance.
