Uttarakhand: Meet fruit vendor who aspires to become a ‘good lawyer’

The fruit seller from Haldwani, Dharmedra Kumar, is currently pursuing BA LLB course from Rudrapur's Unity Law College.

Dehradun, May 4: Football legend Vince Lombardi once famously said, "The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand."

The famous quote by the American soccer star aptly defines the dedication, determination and hard work of a fruit vendor in Uttarakhand's Haldwani. The fruit seller from Haldwani, Dharmendra Kumar, is currently pursuing BA LLB course from Rudrapur's Unity Law College and he aspires to become a "good lawyer" soon.

"I sell fruits but also make time for studies. I can become a good lawyer," Kumar told ANI.

"Uttarakhand: After getting involved in a case in '12, Dharmendra Kumar, a fruit vendor in Haldwani is keen on getting LLB degree. Currently pursuing BA LLB from Rudrapur's Unity Law College, he says 'I sell fruits but also make time for studies. I can become a good lawyer'," tweeted ANI.

When asked why he decided to become a lawyer, Kumar said that a "bitter life experience" motivated him to pursue higher education.

Kumar, originally a native of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, was embroiled in a case of harassment over dowry in 2012, which plunged him into depression, stated ANI.

In 2013, he decided to take admission in a law course with the hope of bringing "speedy justice to others".

Life of Kumar is a true inspiration for all who are fighting various odds but are not yet ready to give up on the challenges.
