Uttarakhand News:Action Against Corrupt Officers on CM's Instructions: Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan Engineer Suspended for Misconduct
Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan has suspended Chief Engineer Sujit Kumar Vikas for violating employee conduct rules and engaging in financial misconduct. The suspension follows a complaint alleging serious irregularities.
In compliance with Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directives to ensure prompt action on cases of misconduct by personnel in the discharge of official duties, the Chairman of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Shri Shailesh Bagoli, has suspended Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas, In-charge Chief Engineer (Kumaon), whose substantive post is Superintending Engineer, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Haldwani, with immediate effect for violating employee conduct rules.

As per the office memorandum issued by the Chairman of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, a complaint was lodged by Shri Sanjay Kumar, son of Shri Chandrapal Singh, alleging that he works on water projects on a subcontract basis. In the year 2022, Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas, then serving as Superintending Engineer, Construction Division, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Dehradun, assured Shri Sanjay Kumar that he would get his firm, M/s Harsh Enterprises, registered with Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan and help secure departmental work. In return, at the behest of Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas, Shri Sanjay Kumar transferred a total of ₹10,00,000 (ten lakh rupees) in five installments of ₹2,00,000 each on 06.07.2022, 07.07.2022, and 08.06.2022 from the Bank of Baroda account of his proprietorship firm M/s Harsh Enterprises (located near Fire Station, Bazpur Road, Kashipur) to the Kotak Mahindra Bank account of M/s Kuchu-Puchu Enterprises. Records indicate that M/s Kuchu-Puchu Enterprises is a firm in which Smt. Ranju Kumari, wife of Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas, is a partner. Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas was given 15 days to provide an explanation, but no response has been received from him to date.
The Chairman of Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan stated that the charges against Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas are extremely serious in nature and that his actions clearly constitute a violation of the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan Employee Conduct Regulations. It has also been noted that allowing Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas to continue as In-charge Chief Engineer (Kumaon), Haldwani, could adversely affect the functioning of other officers/employees in the department.
Therefore, under the provisions of the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan Personnel (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations, Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas, Superintending Engineer, is suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension period, Shri Sujit Kumar Vikas will remain attached to the office of the General Manager (Training), Human Resource Cell, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Roorkee.
