Uttarakhand Earthquake: Quake Of Magnitude 4 Jolts Pithoragarh
An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale jolted Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh on Monday, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed.
National Center for Seismology took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote,''Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 16-10-2023, 09:11:40 IST, Lat: 29.86 & Long: 80.61, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 48km NE of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.''

Earlier On October 16, at approximately 4:08 pm, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 occurred in Faridabad, Haryana, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology. The quake's epicenter was located nine kilometers to the east of Faridabad and 30 kilometers to the southeast of Delhi.
This seismic event caused alarm among the population, leading to reports of significant furniture shaking in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) serves as the central authority of the Union government responsible for monitoring earthquake activity across the country.
