Uttar Pradesh polls 2017: No, it’s not 'donkeys', here monkeys fight monkeys

Reports say a group of trained langurs have been entrusted with the task of protecting electronic voting machines from possible attacks by monkeys in UP.

Lucknow, Feb 25: Ok! We had enough of 'donkey' politics in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, now let's talk about monkeys. You must be thinking, what 'monkeys' have got to do with 'politics' and 'elections'? A lot actually, as an ANI tweet informs that trained langurs have been brought in by the administration in Moradabad, UP, to protect electronic voting machines from possible attacks by monkeys.

The voting in Moradabad constituency took place on February 15 during the second phase of polling in the state. Moradabad is grappling with the issue of monkey menace for long, like a lot of other places in the country. Thus, the authorities thought that till the counting takes place on March 11, they should save the EVMs from possible attacks by hooligan monkey gangs.
