UP Governor Anandiben Patel Rebukes Officials for Poor Tree Plantation Drive Preparations
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel expressed her dissatisfaction with officials during a tree plantation programme on Saturday. She criticised the arrangements, stating that the pits dug were not deep enough for large plants. "It is my nature to reprimand those who do not work properly. It is our responsibility," she said, addressing officials and participants.

Governor's Instructions Ignored
Patel mentioned that she had provided clear guidelines on proper tree planting methods. She blamed administrative and forest department officials for failing to ensure the event was conducted correctly. "I will not forgive you... It will come in the press tomorrow but it is important to say this," she stated.
The governor also pointed out that ministers responsible should have ensured proper arrangements were made. Although she did not name anyone, Rakesh Rathore Guru, Minister of State for Urban Development, and Suresh Rahi, Minister of State, Prisons, were absent from the event despite being from the district.
Participants Criticised
Patel criticised participants and teachers for being more interested in taking selfies than understanding their responsibilities. "Have I come here for photographs? I came to Sitapur after travelling for one and a half hours. Had I known about the arrangements, I would have never come here," she remarked.
She emphasised the importance of effectively using the occasion as members from many organisations were present for the drive at Army Land in Khairabad area. The governor's comments highlighted her disappointment with the negligence shown by officers and leaders during the programme.
The event saw Patel publicly rebuking officials for inadequate preparations. She stressed that it was crucial to be careful about how trees are planted and that it was their duty to ensure proper care. "Who will take care of it, we have to do it," she said.
In her address, Patel underscored that effective tree planting requires attention to detail and proper execution. Her remarks aimed at ensuring future events are better managed and responsibilities are taken seriously by all involved parties.
