CM Yogi: Attacks on Sanatan Dharma Failed in Past, Will Fail Today Too

In response to DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's alleged anti-Sanatan remarks, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath defended the resilience of the religion stating that it has survived numerous attacks in the past and will continue to do so. He made this statement at a cultural programme on Janmashtami.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently made a strong statement in defense of the Sanatan Dharma, following controversial comments allegedly made by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin. The Chief Minister asserted that numerous attempts to undermine or harm the Sanatan Dharma have failed in the past and will continue to do so, regardless of any efforts from "power hungry parasitic creatures".

Yogi Adityanath Sanatan Dharma Statement

The controversy stemmed from remarks reportedly made by Stalin criticising the Sanatan Dharma. He is said to have compared it unfavorably with equality and social justice, even going as far as likening it to harmful diseases like coronavirus and malaria. Furthermore, he suggested that such elements should not merely be opposed but actively destroyed.

Adityanath's Strong Defense of Sanatan Dharma

In response to these allegations, Adityanath delivered a fervent defense of the ancient religious tradition during a cultural programme at Police Lines on Janmashtami day. He argued that if historical figures like Ravana, Kansa, Babur and Aurangzeb - all known for their tyranny and atrocities - could not eliminate or damage Sanatan Dharma despite their efforts, then contemporary critics stood no chance.

He expressed this sentiment through a four-line verse posted on social media platform 'X', where he also shared a video clip of his speech. In his verse he asked rhetorically: "The Sanatan that Ravana's arrogance failed to erase, the Sanatan that Kansa's roar failed to shake, and the Sanatan that Babur’s and Aurangzeb’s atrocities could not annihilate; will that Sanatan be erased by these petty power-hungry parasitic creatures?"

A Warning Against Malicious Attempts on Humanity

Without naming anyone directly, Chief Minister Adityanath further warned that any attempt to tarnish the image of Sanatan Dharma was tantamount to making a malicious attempt against humanity itself. He suggested that such attempts were not just attacks on a religious tradition, but also potentially harmful endeavors against the broader human community.

It's important to note that Sanatan Dharma is a term used by many Hindus to refer their religion. It encompasses a broad range of beliefs and practices and is often translated as "eternal tradition" or "eternal way".

In conclusion, this recent controversy surrounding the comments allegedly made by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has sparked off an intense debate about the nature and value of Sanatan Dharma in contemporary Indian society. The strong response from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscores the deep-seated respect and reverence for this ancient tradition among many Indians today, while also highlighting the potential repercussions for those who seek to undermine it.
