Yogi Adityanath Urges Police and Administration to Remain Alert During Festival Season in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed police and administrative officials to maintain constant vigilance during the festival season. This directive aims to prevent any incidents across the state. In a virtual meeting with district magistrates and police chiefs, Adityanath reviewed law and order measures and provided guidelines for the upcoming festivals.

Adityanath Calls for Vigilance During Festivals

Ensuring Safety During Festivals

Adityanath emphasised the need for round-the-clock alertness from police and administration during festivals. He urged districts to evaluate past incidents and ensure no disturbances occur from Sharadiya Navratri to Chhath. He stressed that there should be no open sale of meat or illegal slaughterhouses operating anywhere.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that meat and liquor shops should not be near religious sites. Liquor outlets must adhere to fixed operating hours, and efforts against illegal liquor should persist. Within two days, all Durga Puja committees should be contacted at various levels to ensure smooth operations.

Guidelines for Festival Arrangements

Adityanath instructed that pandals should not obstruct roads, and traffic flow must remain unhindered. Idol heights should comply with prescribed limits. Discussions with committees are necessary to prevent actions that might offend others' beliefs. He also advised against vulgar or loud music and dance, urging committees to maintain cleanliness around pandals.

The idol immersion routes need prior clearance, ensuring no high-tension cables are present. Extra precautions are required in sensitive areas, with fire safety arrangements in pandals being essential. During festivals, police must remain vigilant against disruptive elements to reassure public safety.

Temple Crowds and Transport Arrangements

With large crowds expected at temples during Navratri, adequate police deployment is crucial. The Chief Minister called for improved facilities for devotees at key temples like Maa Vindhyavasini Dham in Mirzapur and Vishalakshi Temple in Varanasi. Cleanliness in temple premises is also a priority.

Adityanath directed an increase in road transport buses during the festival season. For Deepawali, he announced free LPG cylinder distribution under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, ensuring timely completion of formalities so beneficiaries receive them before the festival.

Addressing Security Concerns

The Chief Minister raised concerns about potential conspiracies to disrupt rail traffic, citing reports of gas cylinders and stones on railway tracks. He urged improved intelligence collaboration with railways and activating village watchmen systems to prevent such incidents.

Adityanath mentioned the upcoming fifth phase of Mission Shakti, focusing on women's safety, respect, and self-reliance. Departments have predetermined action plans for this campaign and must adhere to them diligently.

He also stressed timely resolution of revenue disputes involving common people, such as name transfers and inheritance issues, within a set timeframe.
