UPSC Invites Applications For High-Level Roles: Join As Joint Secretary, Director, Or Deputy Secretary

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is now inviting applications for various high-level positions, including Joint Secretary and Director/Deputy Secretary roles across multiple ministries and departments.

Contract Duration: These positions are available on a contractual basis for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of an extension of up to five years based on performance.

Available Positions And Eligibility Criteria

I. Joint Secretary (Emerging Technologies), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology:

Eligibility: Postgraduate degree in Technology, Management, Public Policy, Development Studies, Economics, Liberal Arts, or Law from a recognised university/institute.

Experience Required: 15 years in Technology, with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role, particularly in New and Emerging Technologies and public policy.

Responsibilities: Include policy research, strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and content creation.

II. Joint Secretary (Semiconductors and Electronics), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology:

Eligibility: BE/BTech in Electronics and Communication, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science from a recognised university/institute.

Experience Required: 15 years in a leadership role within the semiconductors and electronics sector or related fields.

Responsibilities: Overseeing electronics industry aspects, policy formulation, and promoting electronics manufacturing in India.

III. Joint Secretary (Environment Policy and Environment Law), Ministry of Environment, Forest And Climate Change:

Eligibility: MSc in Environmental Science from a recognised university/institute.

Experience Required: 15 years in Environment Policy and Environmental Law. A PhD in Environmental Sciences is desirable.

Responsibilities: Managing environmental policy and law, including regulatory oversight and policy development.

Age Limits and Salary Details

I. Joint Secretary Level
Age Limit: 40 to 55 years
Gross Salary: Approximately Rs 2,70,000 per month (including Dearness Allowance, Transport Allowance, and House Rent Allowance)

II. Director Level
Age Limit: 35 to 45 years
Gross Salary: Fixed at Rs 2,32,000 per month

III. Deputy Secretary Level
Age Limit: 32 to 40 years
Gross Salary: Approximately Rs 1,52,000 per month
