UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Tomorrow: Essential Exam Day Guidelines And Reporting Timings
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) 2025 on May 25, in two shifts. The first session begins at 9:30 AM, and the second session starts at 2:30 PM. With just a day left, candidates are advised to be fully ready with all the essential exam-day requirements and aware of what is permitted and prohibited at the exam centre.
Admit cards are available on the official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates are urged to download and print them immediately to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.

Exam Centre Entry Timings & Essentials
Candidates must arrive at the centre well in advance, as entry will close 30 minutes before the start of each shift. Latecomers will not be allowed under any circumstances.
To enter the exam centre, the following items are mandatory:
- Printed Admit Card: A physical copy is compulsory. Digital copies will not be accepted.
- Black Ballpoint Pen: Only black ballpoint pens are permitted for marking answers.
- Government-issued Photo ID: Must match the details mentioned on the admit card.
- Two Passport-sized Photographs: With name and date written on them. These are needed if the admit card photo is unclear or missing.
- Simple Wristwatch: Only analog watches are allowed. Smartwatches and digital watches are banned.
Prohibited Items
Candidates must not bring the following:
- Mobile Phones - Completely restricted, even if switched off.
- Smartwatches or Digital Watches
- Books, Bags, or Notes
- Valuable Items or Gadgets
- Any Electronic Device or Accessory-Fitted Watch, including fitness trackers
There is no facility to store these items at the exam venue, and candidates must manage storage at their own risk.
Important Reminders
- Be Punctual: Arriving late will lead to disqualification from the session, as entry gates close 30 minutes prior to the start.
- Carry a Valid ID: Ensure the ID matches the one used during application.
- Respect Exam Conduct Rules: All exam centre protocols, including rules on restricted items, must be followed strictly.
- Health Guidelines: Based on prevailing conditions, COVID-19 safety protocols may still be applicable. Be ready to follow any health instructions issued at the centre.
