UPSC CSE 2023 Third Rank Holder Ananya Reddy Aims for People-Centric Governance
In a significant achievement for Telangana, Donuru Ananya Reddy, originating from the less developed Mahabubnagar district, clinched the third rank in the 2023 Civil Services Examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) disclosed the results on Tuesday, marking a moment of pride and joy for Reddy and her home state.

Contrary to the common perception of the Civil Services Examination being exceedingly difficult, Reddy shared her insights, emphasizing that while the exam presents challenges, a well-structured preparation strategy can simplify the process. She revealed dedicating 6-8 hours daily to her studies, which intensified to 12-14 hours as the examination approached.
Reddy's primary goal as a civil servant is to bridge the gap between administration and citizens, aiming for a governance model that prioritizes public welfare. Her advice to aspirants is to tailor their preparation strategy around their personal strengths and weaknesses rather than mimicking others' methods. Stressing resilience, she encouraged maintaining perseverance through the mental and emotional demands of the examination process.
The achievement has also been acknowledged by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who expressed his delight over the success of over 50 candidates from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the civil services examination. Particularly, he lauded Ananya Reddy for her exceptional performance, highlighting it as a source of inspiration for many. The Chief Minister's commendation underscores the significance of this accomplishment not only for Reddy but also for the broader community in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Ananya Reddy's success story is not just a personal victory but a beacon of hope for many aspiring civil servants. It underscores the importance of strategic preparation and mental fortitude in overcoming the challenges posed by one of India's most competitive examinations. Her journey from Mahabubnagar to securing the third rank nationally serves as a testament to what can be achieved with dedication and a clear vision for serving society.
