Uproar In Patna Over Singer’s 'Ishwar Allah Tero Naam' Line At Vajpayee Tribute Event
An event in Patna to honour former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was disrupted by protests when a folk singer included the lines "Ishwar Allah tero naam" (Ishwar and Allah are your names) during her performance of the iconic bhajan "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram".
As soon as Devi sang these lines, a portion of the audience began protesting and shouting slogans.

As the situation intensified, singer Devi apologised from the stage. During the incident at Bapu Sabhagar auditorium in Patna, former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey intervened to handle the situation. He was also seen escorting the folk singer off the stage.
Following her apology, chants of "Jai Shri Ram" resonated through the venue. The bhajan, strongly associated with Mahatma Gandhi, conveys a message of unity.
The event, titled 'Main Atal Rahunga', was organised to celebrate the contributions of the BJP leader on his birth anniversary. Apart from Choubey, other prominent figures present included Dr CP Thakur, Sanjay Paswan, and Shahnawaz Hussain.
Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav criticised the BJP, claiming its supporters take issue with the slogan "Jai Siyaram, Jai Sitaram" because it honours Mother Sita.
"In Patna, when a singer performed Gandhi Ji's hymn, 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sita Ram', BJP allies of Nitish Kumar caused an uproar. The narrow-minded and petty individuals felt their sentiments were hurt by the hymn. The singer, Devi, had to apologise," Lalu Yadav said.
"BJP and its supporters have always been anti-women, and by using the slogan 'Jai Shri Ram', they also insult half the population," the RJD chief tweeted.
