UPPSC Prelims New Date: Key Details And Preparation Tips For Candidates

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the rescheduling of the PCS Preliminary Examination 2024, now set to be conducted on December 22, 2024.

Originally planned for December 7 and 8, the exam will now take place in a single day with two shifts-9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

This change comes after student protests demanding a one-day format for the exam, prompting discussions between UPPSC officials and students. Consequently, the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams, earlier scheduled for December 22-23, have also been postponed. A special committee has been formed to ensure transparency and fairness in these examinations, with the new dates for the RO/ARO exam to be announced after the committee's review.

This is the third time the PCS Prelims date has been revised. Initially scheduled for March 17, 2024, the exam was postponed due to the RO/ARO 2023 paper leak in February. It was then moved to October 27-28, 2024, but logistical challenges further delayed it to December 7-8 before settling on December 22. With the revised schedule, candidates are advised to adjust their preparation strategies, focusing on mock tests and effective time management to handle the two-shift format.

The UPPSC has assured candidates that measures like normalization will ensure fairness in scoring across shifts. Admit cards reflecting the new schedule will be issued soon, and candidates are encouraged to stay updated through official notifications on the UPPSC website. The postponement offers additional preparation time, and aspirants should utilize it wisely to strengthen their chances of success.
