UPPSC Coaching Centre Sealed Amid Ongoing Student Protests in Prayagraj

The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) sealed the Sanskriti IAS coaching centre on Thursday. This action coincided with ongoing student protests outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) office. The coaching centre alleged that the sealing was due to their provision of food and water to protesting students. However, the PDA refuted this, citing violations of map approvals as the reason.

UPPSC Coaching Centre Sealed During Protests

PDA Vice President Amit Pal Sharma stated, "The coaching centre had already been issued notices long ago. They had committed in writing to remove unauthorised structures voluntarily, but they did not comply. Their construction was against the approved map, and the basement was being used in violation of regulations."

Protests and Exam Schedule Changes

Hundreds of government job aspirants have been demonstrating in Prayagraj for four days. They are opposing UPPSC's decision to conduct the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer (RO-ARO) and Provincial Civil Service (PCS) preliminary exams on separate dates. Protestors demanded a return to holding these exams on a single day, as was previously done.

In response to the protests, UPPSC postponed the RO-ARO exam on Thursday. They also announced that the PCS exam would follow the old pattern, taking place on a single day. Additionally, a committee will be formed to ensure transparency and fairness in the RO-ARO exam process.

KP Dwivedi, head of Sanskriti IAS, commented on the situation, saying, "Some food packets and water were provided to students sitting on protest at the Public Service Commission. This action was taken as a result of that." Despite these claims, PDA maintained their stance regarding map violations.

The unfolding events highlight tensions between educational institutions and regulatory authorities amid student protests. The situation underscores ongoing concerns about exam scheduling and administrative decisions affecting aspirants' futures.
