Upendra Kushwaha resigns from JDU, forms new party 'Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal'
Upendra Kushwaha has announced his own political party and named it 'Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal'.
Upendra Kushwaha, who recently raised a banner of revolt against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, resigned from Janata Dal-United (JDU). He also announced his new political party in Bihar and named it 'Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal'. However, it remains unclear if he would join hands with the NDA in Bihar or contest alone without any alliance

Addressing a press conference in Patna, Kushwaha said,''A new political inning begins today. Barring a few, everyone in the JDU was expressing concern...meeting was held with elected colleagues and decision was taken.'' "Nitish Kumar did good in beginning but in the end, the path on which he started walking is bad for him and Bihar," he said.
After the verbal war of words between JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha and Nitish Kumar, Kumar has given a clear message to the party leader to quit the party and should go wherever he wants to go immediately.
Kushwaha started his political career as a member of the Janata Dal (United) party and was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Karakat Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar in 2004. Later, he formed his own party, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), in 2013 and joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the 2014 general elections.
He served as a Minister of State for Human Resource Development in the central government from 2014 to 2018, but later resigned from his post and left the NDA coalition in December 2018, citing differences with the BJP over seat sharing in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kushwaha's RLSP contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the opposition parties in Bihar, but failed to win any seats. Currently, he continues to be the president of the RLSP and is actively involved in state politics in Bihar.
