Salman Khan, family come out at balcony, wave at the fans

Mumbai, May 8: Bombay High Court suspended the sentence of Salman Khan and extended the actor's bail.

Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison on Wednesday in the the 2002 hit-and-run case but was given interim bail till Friday.

6:30 pm: Salman Khan returned to his Galaxy apartment at Bandra (W). Massive crowd gathered outside his residence to get a glimpse of the actor.

He finally came at the balcony and acknowledged his fans. His father Salim Khan, mother, brother Arbaz Khan, sister Arpita Khan -- all were there with Salman.

The actor also requested his fans not to clear traffic jam. He also thanked people.

5:45 pm: Salman Khan surrendered before the Sessions Court and finally got bail till the next hearing of the Bombay High Court. The actor left from Sessions Court after signing the bail bond.

5:30 pm: All paper works have been done. Now, Salman along with his lawyer, arrived at the Sessions Court. He will go to the registrar office and will flourish the bond paper of Rs 30,000.

5:20 pm: Salman Khan was at his lawyers' office in Mumbai. He just left the office and will reach the Sessions Court shortly. He will sign the bail bond of Rs 30,000 and will get bail.

5:05 pm: TV reports confirmed that Bombay High Court's order copy on suspension of Salman's sentencing has not reached the Sessions Court yet. Hence, the actor has been buying time before appearing before the court.

Unless the order copy comes to the sessions court, Salman cannot complete the legal formalities to get the fresh bail.
