UP: Yet again protest over WhatsApp post for denigrating religion
Jalaun(UP), Sept 5: Members of a community today held protest and gheraoed police station in Konch area here to mark their protest against a post on a social messaging app, which according to them denigrated their religion.
An FIR has been lodged and the main accused has been taken into custody, Additional Superintendent of Police, Shakeel Ahmed Khan said.

The protesters gheraoed the Konch kotwali this morning for over two hours and the situation was normalised only after additional police force arrived, Khan said.
"Some mischievous elements also damaged and looted shops in Malviya Nagar area nearby," he said.
Police have been deployed in strength and senior officials were camping in Konch kotwali, Khan added.
