UP: Wife, Lover Kill Husband Using Rat Poison, Fake His Suicide In Chilling Crime; Arrested
A couple married for 16 years with four children has been torn apart by a chilling crime - the husband is dead, and the wife is behind bars for allegedly murdering him and attempting to stage the killing as a suicide so she could be with her lover.
In a shocking case reported from Uttar Pradesh, 25-year-old Rekha is accused of lacing a cup of tea with rat poison and giving it to her husband, Kehar Singh, on Sunday night at their home in Bareilly's Fatehganj.

She then reportedly invited her lover, Pintu, over. The pair are said to have strangled Singh with a rope before hanging his body in an attempt to make the murder appear as suicide.
The following morning, Rekha allegedly pretended to be distraught, crying out loud to alert the neighbours. The neighbours brought the body down and notified the police.
However, the post-mortem findings revealed the truth.
"The post-mortem clearly confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation," said Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Mukesh Chandra Mishra.
"A case of murder has been registered against the woman and her lover based on a complaint by the victim's brother, Ashok Singh," he added.
Kehar Singh had been employed as a sanitation worker on a contractual basis with the Fatehganj Paschimi Nagar Panchayat in Bareilly.
According to the police, the couple had been quarrelling frequently for over a year due to Rekha's affair.
"They were constantly arguing about her relationship with the other man, Pintu. She had even asked for a divorce. I have filed a case against both of them for murdering my brother," said Ashok Singh.
In his complaint, Ashok alleged that his brother had discovered the affair, which led Rekha and her lover to plot his murder.
Both Rekha and Pintu have been arrested and charged with murder. During police questioning, Rekha initially gave evasive answers but eventually admitted to poisoning her husband. Authorities are awaiting the viscera report to confirm the presence of poison.
This gruesome case is the latest in a series of horrifying domestic crimes in Uttar Pradesh. In another incident, a woman and her lover in Meerut allegedly murdered her husband and left a snake near the body in a bid to mislead investigators.
These come shortly after the brutal killing of Saurabh Shukla, who was murdered by his wife Muskaan Rastogi and her lover. The duo reportedly dismembered his body and sealed the remains in a drum filled with cement.
