UP Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorm, Hailstorm Likely Across Western Uttar Pradesh In Next 3 Hours

Residents across several districts of western Uttar Pradesh received an "Extremely Severe Alert" on Thursday evening, warning of intense thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, heavy rainfall and possible hailstorms over the next three hours.

The alert, received on mobile devices around 8:52 PM, cautioned people to remain indoors and take necessary safety precautions as adverse weather conditions are expected to affect multiple districts in the state.

Winds Up To 100 Kmph Expected

According to the weather warning, severe thunderstorms accompanied by wind speeds of 70-90 kmph, gusting up to 100 kmph or more, are very likely to occur in parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

The alert also warned of frequent lightning activity along with moderate to intense spells of rainfall. Hailstorms may also occur in some areas, increasing the risk of damage to crops, vehicles and temporary structures.

Commuters on roads and highways have been urged to drive carefully as reduced visibility, waterlogging and sudden wind gusts may create hazardous conditions.
