UP top cop vows to build Ram Mandir, CM seeks clarification
Uttar Pradesh top cop has courted controversy by pledging to build Ram Mandir at the earliest. The IPS officer was caught on camera taking a vow with other panelists in a function.
CNN news 18 reported that DG Homeguard Surya Kumar Shukla re-ignited the Ram Mandir debate, saying "I pledge to build the Ram temple at the earliest".
However, the officer denied the reports. He said, " There was a seminar in which they want to help in building the Ram Mandir to which I told them the matter is under discussion. Why will I say anything that will disturb the peace of the nation."
Based on the reports, UP CM Yogi Adityanath sought explanation from the DG Homeguard for defying service rules.
