UP shocker: Father kills daughter, boyfriend over WhatsApp chats

Agra, Dec 8: A shocking case of honour killing has come to the light. Reportedly a man killed his daughter and her boyfriend allegedly for long WhatsApp chat.

The incident is of Uttar Pradesh's Agra city. Reportedly, 21 year old girl Bharti Kushwaha was in a relationship with boy named Naresh Kumar Singh (24) . But girl's parents didn't approve her relation with the village boy. Girl's father Giriraj wanted her daughter to marry with someone else.

According to a TOI report, on Saturday, Giriraj asked both boy and girl to meet him on city's outskirts. On the false promise of getting them married, he(father) told them to come at desolate place near Agra-Rajashthan border.

Police has said that enraged Giriraj beat couple to death. On Sunday, bodies were found in the bushes near Mania police station in Dholpur, Rajasthan. Police confirmed that there were signs of severe beating on the bodies.

When asked about whole incident, a police officer was quoted as saying, "We were told by residents there that Giriraj had objected to the relationship in the past. The couple used to chat with each other for several hours a day on WhatsApp, which would irritate the father, who was searching for a groom for Bharti of his choice."
