UP sadhus demand death penalty for Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Gurmeet Ram Rahim's sentencing to take place at 2.30 pm in at a special court near Rohtak, Haryana.
Ahead of the pronouncement of the quantum of punishment to Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim convicted in the rape case, sadhus in Uttar Pradesh demanded death penalty for the 'godman'.

A group of sadhus, including a Naga sadhu, and a few people of Varanasi demanded death by hanging to the Dera chief who is in Rohtak jail.
Sadhus held placards which read: 'Balatkari baba ko Phansi do-Phansi do' it means hang to death the rapist baba, reports ANI.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim's sentencing to take place at 2.30 pm in at a special court near Rohtak, Haryana.
Security has been tightened around Sunaria jail where Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been lodged since August 25. Police is conducting security checks at various barricades to keep situation under control.
The Rohtak DC has said that 'shoot at sight orders' will be implemented if anti-social elements try and harm self or others.
Meanwhile, Panchkula, Sirsa, Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring areas have been put on high alert, with paramilitary forces deployed in various pockets of the states. While Section 144 is already in place in Rohtak, curfew also continues to be enforced in Sirsa.
