UP Police Arrest Mohd. Javed, Brother Of Accused Who Allegedly Killed Two Boys In Badaun

The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested the second suspect in the Badaun double murder case on Thursday. The arrested individual, Mohammad Javed, was captured in Bareilly. Initial reports indicate that Javed had fled to Delhi but was eventually apprehended in Bareilly.

A video has emerged in which Javed is heard stating that he had come to Bareilly to surrender himself. He expressed, ".I ran straight to Delhi and from there I have to come to Bareilly to surrender. I have received phone calls from people about what my brother did...""

It must be noted that the police have reported that Sajid, a local barber and the accused in the case, was shot dead by the police after he opened fire on the pursuing police team. An FIR has been lodged against two individuals, Sajid and Javed, based on a complaint filed by the deceased's father, Vinod Singh, at the Civil Lines Police station. Singh's sons, Ayush (13) and Honey (6), were allegedly killed by the barber at their home on Tuesday night.

Discussing the findings of the postmortem report, Badaun SSP Alok Priyadarshi stated, "Ayush's body has 14 wounds caused by sharp weapons, which match with the sharp weapon we have recovered. Ahaan has two wounds, one of which is a neck injury."

"The cause of death is shock and hemorrhage due to anti-mortem injuries. Regarding the motive, investigations are ongoing as per the complaint filed by the victim's family. We are exploring all possible angles, including the possibility of black magic," the SSP explained.

"The attackers and the victim's family were acquainted. We were unable to apprehend Sajid, who was killed in retaliatory firing by the police," he added.

According to the deceased's mother, Munni Devi, Sajid had visited their house asking for money. "He claimed he needed Rs 5,000 for medical expenses for his pregnant wife. We gave him the money. My daughter-in-law offered him tea before he left and went to the kitchen. During this time, he took Ayush upstairs under the pretext of seeing the parlour Sangeeta runs. Instead, he took him to the roof and killed him. Later, when Aahan came with a glass of water, he was also killed. Piyush (8), the other son, witnessed the attack on his brothers. Sajid tried to grab him, but he managed to escape," Devi recounted.
