UP: Lord Shani Dev Idol Vandalized in Mirhachi, Sparks Tension

An idol of Lord Shani Dev was vandalized by unidentified miscreants in the Mirhachi area, sparking tension in the locality, police reported on Sunday. This marks the second such incident in the district within a week.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Saturday evening in Datei village, where the idol's head, hands, and mace were damaged.

Following the incident, village head Pankaj Singh filed a complaint against unknown individuals, urging authorities to take swift action. Meanwhile, police officials appealed to villagers to maintain peace and assured them of a thorough investigation.

Police Investigation and Security Measures
Circle Officer Sanjay Singh, accompanied by Station House Officer (SHO) Neeta Maheshwari and a significant police force, visited the site to assess the situation. Singh stated that the matter was being taken seriously, and authorities were exploring all possible leads to apprehend the culprits.

The SHO urged locals to remain calm, emphasizing that police personnel had been deployed in the village to ensure law and order.
