UP horror: Woman shot dead inside a police station

In a shocking incident, an unidentified woman has been murdered inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Lucknow, April 18: On Tuesday, a woman was reportedly shot dead by a man inside a police station in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh. Reports indicate that the victim was killed over a land dispute. After the shocking incident, the accused was nabbed by people, who witnessed the crime, and thrashed the man.

"Mainpuri (UP): Woman shot dead inside a police station over land dispute; accused nabbed by people, thrashed in front of police," reported ANI.

However, it is not yet clear how the accused managed to kill the woman in front of police personnel. The police said the matter was under investigation. Anyone found guilty of negligence of duty would be punished, added the police.

In recent times, after the Bharatiya Janata Party formed its government in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, security measures for the citizens have been tightened.
