The Uttar Pradesh government swiftly recovered Anjana's multi-crore Indira Nagar home within 24 hours, arresting the accused amid a zero-tolerance stance on land mafia, and highlighting the state’s commitment to timely justice for vulnerable citizens.

Taking immediate cognisance of the matter, the Chief Minister assured her of swift justice and directed the authorities to act without delay. By Thursday morning, Anjana was restored possession of her home. Overwhelmed with emotion, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Yogi Uncle! God bless you!"

Anjana's father, late Bipin Chandra Bhatt, served the nation as a Major in the Indian Army. He owned house number A-418 in Indira Nagar and passed away in 1994. Of his three children, Anjana is the sole surviving member.

Due to her mental health condition, she was admitted to the Nirvan Rehabilitation Centre in 2016, where she has been receiving treatment and care. Taking advantage of her vulnerable condition, Balram Yadav and his accomplice Manoj Kumar Yadav allegedly occupied the property, installed their own nameplate, and transferred ownership using forged documents.

Anjana had filed a complaint at the local police station on December 6, seeking eviction of the encroachers. When action was delayed, she approached the Chief Minister for help. On December 31, the Chief Minister personally heard her ordeal and ordered immediate and strict action. Following his instructions, the local administration and police conducted a rapid investigation, leading to the arrest of the accused and restoration of the property within 24 hours.

Dr Santosh Dubey of the rehabilitation centre said Anjana had been under their care since 2016. After learning about the illegal occupation, the centre assisted her in filing a police complaint and later facilitated her meeting with the Chief Minister. He said the administration acted promptly thereafter.

As Anjana entered her home on Thursday in the presence of police and army officials, she was visibly emotional. She walked through each room, touching the walls, lit a lamp, broke a coconut, and offered flowers, while sharing emotional moments with neighbours and recalling memories of her childhood. Repeatedly expressing gratitude, she said the Chief Minister stood by her in her darkest time.

ACP Ghazipur Anindya Vikram Singh confirmed that the accused-Balwant Kumar Yadav alias Bablu of Narayanpur village in Saiyadraja, Chandauli, and Manoj Kumar Yadav of Daudpur under the Kotwali police station area-were arrested on Thursday for their involvement in the case.
