UP Government to Invite All Chief Ministers for Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj
The Uttar Pradesh government plans to send ministers to invite governors and chief ministers nationwide to the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. This decision emerged from a meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow. Ministers will visit all states to extend invitations, as confirmed by a senior UP minister.

Promotional Efforts for Maha Kumbh
On November 22, the UP cabinet approved a proposal for roadshows and events both domestically and internationally to promote the Maha Kumbh. These roadshows will be led by ministers who will also meet governors and chief ministers during their visits. The aim is to attract record numbers of devotees from around the world.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak highlighted the focus on ensuring grandeur and effective management for the Kumbh. He stated that the event would be organised on a grand scale, with discussions centred on maintaining law and order across the state. "The law and order in UP is already good," Pathak said, emphasising the need for further improvements.
Preparations and Political Discussions
Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Prayagraj on December 13, Yogi Adityanath will assess preparations for the Kumbh. The event is scheduled to start on January 13, 2025. Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh is in Delhi promoting the Kumbh among international representatives.
UP minister Danish Azad mentioned discussions on implementing the party’s Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra and an upcoming bypoll. The BJP aims to replicate its recent by-poll success in Ayodhya's Milkipur seat, where it won six out of nine seats, with its ally RLD securing one seat.
UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary and state general secretary organisation Dharampal Singh were present at Adityanath's meeting. Organisational issues were also addressed during this gathering, according to Chaudhary. The itinerary for ministerial visits is currently being prepared.
When asked about inviting opposition leaders, a senior minister responded affirmatively, stating, "Why not? We will seek an audience with all CMs, including those from opposition states." This inclusive approach aims to ensure widespread participation in the Maha Kumbh event.
The meeting underscored the importance of showcasing both grandeur and effective management at the Maha Kumbh. The focus remains on ensuring a successful event that highlights Uttar Pradesh's cultural heritage while maintaining public safety and order throughout the state.
