UP Draft Electoral Roll Out Under SIR 2026; How Voters Can Check Their Status

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the draft electoral roll for Uttar Pradesh under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, allowing voters to check whether their names appear on the updated voters’ list. With a large number of additions and deletions expected during this exercise, the Commission has urged citizens to verify their details at the earliest to avoid issues during future elections.

The draft roll has been made public on the ECI’s official platforms, giving voters multiple options—both online and offline—to confirm their registration status. Officials have clarified that the draft list is not final and that anyone whose name is missing or incorrectly listed can raise objections or submit claims within the prescribed period.

How to check your name in the voters’ list online

The easiest way to verify your name is through the Voters’ Service Portal.

1. Visit voters.eci.gov.in

2. Go to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – 2026 section

3. Click on “Search your name in Last SIR”

4. Choose one of the two search methods:

   • Search by Electoral Details: Enter your state, district, Assembly constituency, polling station details, section number, name, age and a relative’s name

   • Search in Last SIR E-Roll: Select your state, district and Assembly constituency to view the relevant part of the draft roll

   • Enter the Captcha code and submit

Once the details are entered, the system will display whether your name appears in the draft electoral roll.

Checking your voter details using mobile apps

Voters can also use the ECINET mobile application, developed by the Election Commission of India. The app provides access to the draft electoral roll and allows users to search their voter details using similar filters as the web portal, making it convenient for smartphone users.

Offline option: Visit your polling station

For those who prefer offline verification, the ECI has ensured that Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) keep printed copies of the draft electoral rolls at polling stations. Voters can visit their designated booth and check the list with the help of the BLO, who can also guide them on the next steps if corrections are required.

What to do if your name is missing or incorrect

If a voter does not find their name in the draft roll or notices errors in personal details, they can file a claim or objection with the ECI. Applications can be submitted online through the Voters’ Service Portal or the ECINET app, or offline through the local Booth-Level Officer, along with the required supporting documents.

The Election Commission has emphasised that this verification phase is crucial to ensure that no eligible voter is left out. Citizens are advised to check their names promptly and complete the necessary formalities well before the final electoral roll is published.
