UP’s New Identity Unacceptable to ‘Casteist’ and ‘Dynastic’ Forces: CM Yogi
Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, showcases a shift from unrest to growth, citing major infrastructure projects in Gorakhpur and broader state-wide reforms under a double-engine government, with strengthened security and investment-driven progress.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh has shed its old "BIMARU" image and emerged as a "breakthrough" state with a new identity. He remarked that caste-driven and dynastic political forces are unable to accept this transformation, alleging that such groups had previously patronized unrest and disorder.

The Chief Minister was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the Khajanchi Chauraha flyover in Gorakhpur, built at a cost of ₹96.50 crore, and the Bargadwa–Nakaha Rail Over Bridge, constructed at a cost of ₹152.19 crore. He first unveiled the plaque and opened the flyover to the public, and later dedicated the rail over bridge at Bargadwa–Nakaha.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a "state of unrest" into a "state of celebration." He stated that strengthened law and order has curbed rioting and criminal activity, and that strict legal action has been taken against those involved in disturbances.
He further alleged that elements who once supported disorder are now unsettled by the state’s development trajectory. According to him, attempts to create instability are being firmly dealt with by the government.
Recalling the situation before 2017, he said the state had struggled with insecurity, poor law and order, and limited opportunities, which affected women, traders and youth. He added that the current administration has focused on long-term development and security to ensure a better future for coming generations.
The Chief Minister said that improved security and infrastructure under the "double-engine government" have encouraged investment and job creation. He cited large-scale investment proposals and employment generation efforts as indicators of progress. Referring to Gorakhpur, he noted that an industrial corridor is developing from GIDA to Dhuriyapar, aimed at creating local employment opportunities.
Highlighting the city’s transformation, he said Gorakhpur is now being identified with improved infrastructure, healthcare institutions and industrial development. He mentioned expanded road connectivity, new expressway links, industrial growth through GIDA, and major projects such as AIIMS and the fertilizer plant. Ramgarh Tal, he said, has been redeveloped as a major urban attraction, contributing to the city’s changing profile.
He emphasized that development will not remain confined to any one region and said similar infrastructure growth is being pursued across eastern, central and western Uttar Pradesh, including cities such as Lucknow, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Azamgarh and regions like Bundelkhand. Referring to large religious gatherings in Prayagraj, he said improved facilities and security arrangements have enabled significantly higher participation in recent events compared to previous years.
Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan Shukla also addressed the gathering and said that the state and central governments are working together on development and welfare initiatives. Gorakhpur Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava welcomed the Chief Minister and highlighted civic development initiatives in the city. Several public representatives and officials were present at the event, including Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad, MLAs and local leaders.
