UP Court Directs FIR Against BJP MLA Harish Shakya and Others on Gangrape Allegations

A court has ordered an FIR against BJP's Bilsi MLA Harish Shakya and 15 others, including his brother and nephew, for alleged gangrape and fraud. The directive came from Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Leelu Chaudhary after a plea by the alleged victim's husband, linked to a land dispute. The Civil Lines police station must register the case within 10 days and ensure a fair investigation.

FIR Ordered Against BJP MLA Harish Shakya

Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Singh mentioned that they have not yet received the court's order. "Once we receive the court order copy, FIR will be registered and appropriate legal action will be taken," he stated. The petitioner claims his father purchased land near Poonam Lawn in Budhbai village, which MLA Shakya wanted to buy.

Land Dispute Details

The land, valued at approximately Rs 18 crore, was agreed to be sold to the MLA for Rs 16.5 crore, according to the petition. Shakya was supposed to pay 40% of the price during the written agreement, with the remaining amount due at the deed signing. However, only Rs 1 lakh was given as an advance by Shakya.

The petitioner alleged that without paying the agreed 40%, Shakya and his associates pressured him for a written agreement. When he refused without receiving payment, police allegedly detained his cousin and tortured him. The petitioner also claimed that when he attempted to sell the land to another buyer, Shakya's men obstructed the sale.

Allegations of Torture and Assault

According to the petitioner, he was held by police for three days and beaten before being taken by Shakya's associates who allegedly tortured him further. He also accused them of gang-raping his wife. These serious allegations have prompted the court's directive for an FIR against those involved.

MLA Harish Shakya responded by stating he is unaware of any court order but expressed readiness to cooperate with law enforcement if a case is filed. "If the court has ordered filing a case, then he is ready to cooperate with police," he said, adding that he trusts the judicial process completely.

This case highlights significant allegations involving political figures and underscores the need for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served. The developments are being closely monitored as authorities await further instructions following receipt of the court's order.
