UP cop smashed old man's typewriter: Photographer honoured by Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow, Sep 28: The man behind the photo of a 65-year-old typist being tormented by a police officer was felicitated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sep 27.
Ashutosh Tripathi, photo journalist has clicked the image which portrayed the plight of a typist named Kishan Kumar whose only source of income, an old typewriter, was smashed by a Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar. [UP cop smashed old man's typewriter: Meet the Hero behind the viral picture]

Once the photograph went viral, it didn't take much time for the authorities to act on the issue. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav asked senior officers to suspend the police officer and a new type writer was gifted to Kishan.
The photograph invited sea of controversy over the behavior of the police officers.
