Other Events and Preparations

Concurrently, events like the Khichdi Mela in Gorakhpur and Magh Mela in Prayagraj are set to commence from Makar Sankranti. The tradition of Kalpavas will be observed in Farrukhabad, followed by Uttar Pradesh Diwas on January 24 and Republic Day on January 26. Given the significance of law and order during this period, CM Adityanath stressed the need for thorough preparations.

To celebrate the Ram temple event, the chief minister mentioned that people will engage in bhajans and kirtans in temples during the day and participate in deepotsav by lighting Shri Ram Jyotis in the evening. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of all arrangements for the Magh Mela at the Triveni Ghat in Prayagraj, emphasizing the importance of catering to the needs of every devotee and engaging in discussions with seers and devotees. He also highlighted that the Magh Mela serves as a rehearsal for the Prayagraj Kumbh-2025, and efforts should be made to minimize the need for devotees to travel long distances on foot.

Security Measures and Cleanliness Campaign

Regarding the Khichdi Mela in Gorakhpur, CM Adityanath emphasized the importance of security and instructed officials to implement an action plan by dividing the entire area into zones. He directed the deployment of an ASP-rank official in each zone and the installation of public address systems, fire safety systems, and CCTV cameras at various locations.

The chief minister also announced the launch of a special statewide cleanliness campaign starting from Ayodhya on January 14. He expressed his intention to personally inaugurate the initiative and encouraged the active participation of all, including teachers, students, and social workers. CM Adityanath highlighted the anticipated influx of two to three lakh devotees daily in Ayodhya after January 22 and emphasized the need for adequate preparations, including parking and cleanliness arrangements. He directed the transport department to arrange a minimum of 500 additional buses to cater to the increased number of visitors.

Infrastructure Development in Ayodhya

In addition, the chief minister instructed the installation of at least 10,000 CCTV cameras in Ayodhya and the transformation of roads leading to the city into Green Corridors. He also stressed the importance of further improving lodging facilities such as hotels, dharamshalas, tent cities, and homestays in Ayodhya.

By meticulously planning and executing these preparations, Uttar Pradesh aims to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming events, while simultaneously showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage and enhancing its global appeal.
