UP Cancels Assistant Professor Exam 2025 Following Paper Leak

The Uttar Pradesh government has cancelled the Assistant Professor recruitment exam 2025 after allegations of a paper leak and irregularities emerged. Authorities have asked the UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) to announce new exam dates and ensure the process is conducted in a secure and transparent manner.

The exam, held on April 16 and 17, was intended for 1.14 lakh candidates competing for 1,017 vacancies in government-aided degree colleges across the state. During the investigation, the UP Special Task Force (STF) arrested Mehboob Ali, Baijnath Pal, and Vinay Pal, who were accused of preparing and selling fake question papers to candidates.

Mehboob Ali, previously a confidential assistant to the UPESSC Chairman, reportedly admitted to creating fraudulent papers across multiple subjects and distributing them in exchange for large sums of money.

This cancellation follows a pattern of disrupted recruitment exams in the state. The Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exams, originally scheduled for December 18 and 19, were also postponed. Revised schedules for these exams will be made available on the UPESSB official website (upsessb.pariksha.nic.in).

UPPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025 - Key Information:

• Eligibility: Postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline as approved by the Medical Council of India, plus three years of teaching experience.
• Selection Process: Shortlisting based on qualifications followed by interview; no written test required.
• Application Fee: Rs 105 for General/OBC candidates; Rs 65 for SC/ST candidates.
• Pay Scale: Starting at Rs 68,900 (Pay Band-11).

The government has assured applicants that the rescheduled exam will be conducted fairly, under strict supervision, to maintain integrity and prevent further malpractice.
