The two day meeting of the State executive committee of Bhartiya Janata Party was inaugurated on Saturday by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who set a target of winning more seats in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.

In his address to the party workers, Singh asserted that the "expressway" of forming the government in the parliament election of 2019 will start from UP. He said that a target of 350 seats has been set for this election, which is achievable.

The Home Minister also claimed that terrorism has been brought under control under the BJP rule.

On the Adityanath government, Singh said he cannot claim that all criminals have run away from the state but the government has created a "sense of fear" among criminals.

According to a statement issued by the BJP state unit, Pandey said that discussions were also held on preparing the road map for the crucial 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
