Poster war in UP: Workers depict BJP chief as Lord Krishna, rivals portrayed as Kauravas
Varanasi, April 15: A poster released by enthusiastic BJP workers in Varanasi of party's newly appointed Uttar Pradesh chief, Keshaw Prasad Maurya, has depicted him as Lord Krishna.
The poster also portrays political leaders from rival parties as Kauravas.
As per an ANI report, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan have been portrayed as Kauravas stripping Draupadi in the poster. (Keshav Maurya is new UP BJP chief)
The face of the woman portrayed as Draupadi - depicting Uttar Pradesh - has, however, been blurred.
The satire on the opposition leaders comes at a time when UP is gearing up for crucial assembly elections in 2017.

Maurya is a Lok Sabha member from Phoolpur in Allahabad and has been associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
His appointment indicates that the BJP is likely to embrace the Hindutva line ahead of assembly polls set for 2017. Maurya has also been a legislator from Sirathu.
