Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Announces Biogas Plants Using Cow Dung with Government Support

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has revealed plans to set up compressed biogas plants using cow dung in Uttar Pradesh. The state government will allocate land for these initiatives. This announcement was made during a Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation meeting at his official residence, as per a statement released.

Adityanath stressed the importance of comprehensive training for milk cooperative society employees. He highlighted the need for access to essential equipment to improve their efficiency. Engaging with villages and farmers is crucial to fostering healthy competition among milk cooperatives and unions, aiming to enhance operations and productivity.

Boosting Dairy Sector Productivity

The Chief Minister emphasised educating farmers on breeding superior dairy animals and providing scientific training. These efforts are expected to boost milk productivity and increase farmers' incomes. He also highlighted the role of women in the dairy sector, citing the Balinee Milk Producer in Bundelkhand as a successful model for women's empowerment.

Encouraging women's participation in milk cooperatives and unions is vital for promoting self-reliance. Adityanath called for accountability and goal-setting at all levels within milk unions. Improving milk quality testing and increasing milk collection capacity were also underscored as priorities.

The Chief Minister urged the Dairy Federation to develop a robust model that maximises benefits for farmers. Rewarding those who excel in the sector is essential.
