UP: Badaun Woman, Mother of Four, Elopes With Daughter’s Father-in-Law; Husband, Family Stunned

Just days after a woman from Aligarh reportedly eloped with her daughter's fiancé, another unusual incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh.

This time, a woman from Badaun, identified as Mamta, has allegedly absconded with her daughter's father-in-law, known as Shailendra, also called Billu.

Mamta's husband, Sunil Kumar, stated that he typically returns home only twice a month due to his work as a truck driver.

During his absence, he claims, Mamta would invite Shailendra over to their home. Their son also confirmed that he was frequently asked to leave the room whenever Shailendra visited.

The pair is believed to have fled together in an attempt to avoid any familial objections to their relationship.

Mamta, aged 43, is a mother of four. One of her daughters was married in 2022. According to sources, Mamta gradually developed a romantic relationship with 46-year-old Shailendra, her daughter's father-in-law.

Sunil Kumar said he regularly sent money back home while away on work, unaware of the alleged affair.

"I drive a truck and return home only once or twice a month. I always sent money on time, but my wife Mamta would call my samadhi (daughter's father-in-law) over and conduct an affair. Now she has run off with him, taking jewellery and cash," he said.

Their son, Sachin, added: "Papa was rarely home. Every third day, mummy would call him (Shailendra) over and ask us to go into another room. Now she's run away with him in a tempo."

Neighbour Awadhesh Kumar backed the family's claims, stating, "Sunil Kumar was hardly ever home. In his absence, Mamta often called Shailendra over. Since he was a relative, no one thought much of it."

He further added that Shailendra would often arrive around midnight and leave before morning.

Sunil Kumar has since filed a written complaint against Shailendra at the local police station.

Confirming receipt of the complaint, Daataganj Circle Officer KK Tiwari stated, "We have received a complaint that a woman has eloped with her samdhi (daughter's father-in-law). A proper investigation will be conducted."
